Traditionally associated with boomers and retirees, RV ownership is becoming increasingly popular among millennials (born from 1981 to 1996) and Gen Zers (born from 1997 to 2012).1

  • About half of all RV buyers are now younger than 55, and more than one-fifth are between 18 and 34.2
  • 30% of millennials surveyed by the RV Industry Association reported they were likely to buy an RV in the next year, compared to 26% of Gen Xers and 8% of boomers.3

It inspires many to want to travel across the country and explore national parks in their own backyard to minimize the impact of air travel and hotel stays.

4. Social media and the “influencer”: Millennials and Gen Zers are inspired by influencers who document their adventures and experiences on social platforms. An RV lifestyle can provide opportunities to share beautiful landscapes and breathtaking sunsets with their followers, while living life on their own terms.

5. Community and connection: RV parks and campgrounds offer the opportunity to meet like-minded travelers, share experiences, and form lasting relationships. Owning an RV provides the opportunity for young travelers to embrace this exciting community.
